Meet Doreen Browning |
Doreen Browning is a transplant from the upper midwest, where the glaciers deposited rich, loamy soil and the hard freezes of winter minimized the insect, weed, and disease pressure that she faced as a gardener. This, of course, left her thinking she was a pretty awesome gardener. In 1997, she moved to North Carolina, was severely humbled and has been re-learning everything she thought she knew about gardening. Her gardening interests are native plants, plant propagation, vegetable gardening, composting, soil regeneration, and pollinators. Doreen has served on the board of GAONC since 2021. She regularly hosts GAONC's virtual education programs and contributes a President's message to each edition of the newsletter.
